The VAJ403 Course consists of two main parts-- the systematic explanation of Mahamudra according to Jamgon Kongtrul's Treasury of Knowledge and a commentary on a text called Mahamudra in Four Letters. The first part presents the sources and history of Mahamudra, as well as the characteristics of sutra, tantra, and essence Mahamudra. The second part is a practice-oriented manual with pith instructions on how to cultivate Mahamudra meditation.
